Davud Hind gave Shepshed the perfect start a pin point cross from Scott Staniland to open the scoring. Courtney Meade was brought down on 24 minutes and Staniland from the spot doubled the score. On the Half hour mark an horrendous tackle on Levi Porter led to a free kick which Staniland despatched into the right corner to lead 3 at the break.
