A great day out enjoyed Sunday afternoon my sun tanned face cert showed for it this morning 8) Would like to re-iterate Craig what Steve commented your dad would have been looking over you with a smile on his face at the way the day went ahead.

In a red hot Sunday afternoon a substantial crowd turned out to honour Sir Dave Wheatley and raise funds for 2 wory causes The BHF and EMAS.

With the great conditions the game was played out in competitive but gentle pace the final score meant Shepshed Dynamo XI became the first holders of the DW Trophy with a 6-3 victory. I'll be honest as part of the day I spent most of the time as usually socialising I did miss a lot of the goals But apparently Simon Forsdick aka Fozzy opened the scoreline only for the All Stars to equalise Shepshed's other known scorers were a double from Jovan Maric a penalty from Dave's Grandson Cory Atwal and current first team manager Chalky White lost his Sat Nav and added to the scoresheet.

So it only leaves to thank the All stars for dedicating their time Sunday afternoon it was nice talking to Matt Elliott after the game all the other ex Leicester players for their participation in the game and great to see so many old Shepshed players turning not only those who participated in the game but for those who were unable to play attending to watch the game lets hope it's we don't have to wait so long to see some of you again. Also thanks to Kevin Friend Geoff Law Peter Hill and Andy Newbold who gets worse with every match he officiates (Only joking mate) and Andy Harland for bringing the Euro 2012 ball prototype with him lets hope England can score as many goals with the ball as well.

Once I know the amount raised on the day I ill post on here and the official attendance. Just a reminder the club are looking for volunteers tomorrow evening to carry out much needed work and I'll post details of the a Local Charity Match which is coming to The Dovecote shortly.
