Farewell to a Shepshed Stalwart
This evening I pay respect to a true Shepshed supporter and club man through and through. Gerald Hollis known to many as Twinny died last Sunday at the age of 87. A lot of the supporters who follow the club now wouldn't know Gerald but along with Cyril Mee they worked tirelessly to move Shepshed to where we are today.
My memories of Twinny were his long green coat and for those who knew him it looked long due to his short in height. He always carried boiled sweets in his pocket and when he spoke you said yes as half the time you couldn't understand what he was saying.
But Twinny was at the ground nearly every day and put the corner flags up and down relentlessly every home game.
As part of this post I hope the club will spend a minutes silence or applause on Tuesday in respect of a man who followed the club for all his life.
