So now the unbeaten home run in the league is now over and on tonights disjointed performance we need to settle down to a regular starting eleven and return to playing football as we returned to the long ball game which was one of the pitfalls which saw us exit step 4 last season.

Shepshed saw a few changes from Saturday Chris Shaw replacing Ricky Aeitan at left back, Keiron Davies returning to the side, Joel Holland replacing keiron Bradshaw, Rob Mccormack moving into midfield in place of Leon Cole and Jamie Carlton replaced upfront by Rob Mulonga

Tonights performance was disappointing to say the least I thought losing on Saturday we would have gone out and took the visitors apart like we have at home so far this season but we made an average side look good and resorted to long ball tactics which we have not used all season against a defence which were comfortable and wtih the forward set up anyone at the back would have been happy at receiving relentless chances to head a ball clear.

The first half was scrappy and Stewart and Lloyds looked comfortable the gap between the midfield and the forward line is once again becoming too obvious and when you have the partnership of Fitz and Mulonga up front plus the use of pace on the width the game needs to be played on the floor when Mulonga, Fitz, Holland and Perkins were provided with the oppurtunity to maneouvre the ball in the first half the visitors found it hard to deal with.

After going in front we failed to take control and were undone too many times and failed to create the chances which looked like we were ever going to get back into the game.

As mentioned earlier we need to find a consistent starting eleven which can get the ball down in midfield and play footbal as it's obvious there are teams in this division who can not deal with basic football and pace as they don't have a the fitness or skill level to compete.

After tonight's defeat we have now dropped to 11th in the league and although we all realistically knew we probably wouldn't be pushing for promotion but more enjoyable days than previous seasons. We have now lost 3 on the bounce and on realistic terms we have only played Newport Pagnell who are amongst the front runners which unless we turn this tide at home to Wellingborough on Saturday thoughts of another season of obscurity would be unacceptable.

So positively we need to start on Saturday against Wellingborough home and away the following week as you'll see from the below results they remain pointless.

Sleaford Town 1 Peterborough North Star 1
AFC Kempston Rovers 1 Irchester Utd 1
Cogenhoe Utd 7 Harboorough Town 1
Deeping 1 Holbeach 3
Desborough 4 Wellingborough 0
Long Buckby 0 Q***n 2
Newport Pagnell 1 St Ives1
