Shepshed Dynamo 3 Loughborough 2

Shepshed Dynamo with a mixture of first team and reserve team squad players moved uncomfortably into the Semi Finals against a determind and spirited North West Leicestershire Division 1 side Loughborough F.C

A side which included Keiron Davies, Luke Smith, Sean Byrne, Jaudach Taylor failed to shrug off Loughborough and especially in the 2nd half could have come unstuck. A corner in the early stages neatly finished by Justin Jenkins looked to set the stall out for Dynamo but far from it Loughborough never gave up and duly equalised on the half hour mark a neat byline ball was headed don and past Allen to equalise.

Shepshed retook the lead on the stroke of half time as Davies picked the ball up on the halfway and his turn of pace was too strong for the visitors and he coolly placed the ball into the left hand corner of the goal

Loughborough came out strong in the 2nd half and will probably feel disappointed they have not advanced as they equalised from a save from Allen only for Tommy to beaten by the rebound with a good strike. Allen was forced into numerous saves but with time running out a header at the right hand post saw Jenkins ensured Dynamo's passage to the next round.

Another result which caught my eye tonight was Gresley 0, Tamworth 12.... :D

Thanks for being so hospitable on Tuesday night, it's always a pleasure to visit The Dovecote - we're all pleased that we made more of a game of it this year, who knows if we hadn't lost our keeper and centre-half after 10 minutes?
