Shepshed Dynamo opened the pre season friendlies with a 7-1 victory against EMCL side Blaby & Whetstone at The Dovecote Stadium in front of a crowd realistically for the first game of over 70 is a positive sign.

Shepshed parading new signings Jay Smedley, Craig Attwood, Joe Hopewell, Michael Paporozi who was introduced on the official website in the morning hence the fact I haven't added it on here yet so therefore he's an attacking midfielder signed from EMCL Side Barrow Town and centre forward Luke Edwards started in the sweltering heat in the first half.

Shepshed dominated the first half and the keeper who was on loan from Mansfield had only one save to make all half. A cross from Keiron Davies who looked particuraly sharp in the first half touch and pace wise down the wing saw Joe Hopewell on 17 minutes open the scoring, 2 minutes later and Chaplin with a header doubled the scoreline. Shepshed continued to dominate and on 29 minutes Paparozi opened his account with a tap in one minue later a volley Van Bergkamp esq sailed into the top right hand corner and 4 minutes a link up between Edwards, Chaplin and Paparozi instinctively knowing the goal parameters on a neat right foot curl turned the ball passed the helpless Blaby keeper. Shepshed continued to press and with the high defensive line Paparozi was able to beat the offside trap and lob over the Blaby keeper to turn in an impressive debut.

H-T Shepshed Dynamo 6 Blaby and Whetstone 0

Understandably first pre season friendly and also the heat Shepshed made 9 Changes at Half time a couple of the lads who were in the reserves were brought on and Rob Mulonga, Sean Byrne and Ricky Aiten were introduced. Shepshed opened strong but the balance was slightly redressed when Blaby exposed Shepshed down the right handside to slot home into the right hand corner. The game calmed don a lot but Mulonga and another player who has re-signed for Shepshed again today Pele Orton a central midfielder began to control the game and with Sutton who was a replacement centre forward who looked useful Mulonga was brought down inside the box with 6 minutes to go Sutton coolly slotted the penalty home.

We all know it's pre season and it'll be interesting Saturday against tougher opposition in Rushall. I'm glad I'm not in Chalkie's Jim and Holesy's position because the 11 that started
first half and 2 or 3 others who came on 2nd half will make it competitive for a first team starting line up next season.
