Pre Season is now over
Loughborough Dynamo 1 Shepshed Dynamo 1
So the eagerly awaited 2013/21014 warm up is no over and looking at the match report on LDFC almost sums the game up with what looked close to our opening line up for Saturday working from the back Shepshed looked comfortable and Ryan Thacker was rarely called upon with an early effort over the top a flash across the box and a fine save midway through Simpson in the Loughborough goal was more the busier with Davies down the right and Aiten over lapping down the left Edwads and Chaplin were given the freedom upfront but failed to take numerous chances. Shepshed broke the deadline close to the break with a right hand cross from Davies and Steve "The Beast" Chaplin headed home and prior to half time Edwards was unlucky not to double the score line.
Loughborough made four changes at half time in Rob Norris, Bruno Holden, Tom Byrne and Dean Gent all who have expereince of Evo Stik experience and certainly made the difference within a minute of the restart Loughborough had a goal disallowed for offside and nearly staraight from the restart were awarded a free kick on the edge of the box which flashed passed Thacker's left hand post.
Shepshed then made changes of their own and Loughborough continued in the ascendancy with further efforts firing wide and good defensive blocks and alertness from Thacker. During this period after Chaplin had been replaced by Sutton the combination of Sutton, Edwards and Davies still looked a threat.
Loughborough's equaliser came after a foul on the left hand side which was quickly taken and caught Shepshed flat footed and Tom Byrne's left foot shot beat Thacker at his near post Loughborough were again in the ascendancy and good defensive work and goalkeeping kept out the home side. Shepshed rallyed late in the game and between Liam Tuck, Keiron Davies, Micahel Paparozzi and Ricky Aiten continuously placing balls across the box Loughborough defended well. With moments to spare the final chance fell to Lee Sutton after latching onto a poor ball back to Simpson his desperate lunge rebounded out off the outside of the post.

Both clubs I assume would be pleased with their squads performances this evening with Loughborough still in pre season preparations after starting later than ourselves and as a final warm up for ourselves a draw was a fair result.
So we move onto the opening game Saturday and it's an eagerly anticipated game at home to Walsall Wood with only one defeat all pre season lets hope we can carry this on in the MFA campaign looking back at the pre season friendlies the preparation has been the most consistent squad wis for many a season and the objective of building a side from word go will hopefully prove the correct decision. Roll on Saturday full match preview will be on here Friday night.
