A look around the MFL from Last week
S pre season begins away at Keyworth Tuesday night followed by two home games. The goals and new nets are in place the pitch is marked out news of further signings to follow the season is almost upon us. Here's a lok at what's been happening around the MFL this week.
AFC Wulfrunians lost 4-0 to Hednesford Town in Midweek and beat Wellington Amateur at home on Saturday.
Alvechurch continued their goal scoring spree in pre season with a 4-1 victory against Alcester Town yesterday and have announced two new signings Gareth Evans from Blackwood and Malachi Farqhaurson.
Basford United continue their busy pre season with victories over Blaby & Whetstone 6-3, Lincoln City 4-3 and Hucknall Rolls 8-1
Boldmere St Michaels opened their pre season with a 2-1 win away at Sutton Coldfield Town
Newcomwers Brocton are yet to conceed a goal in pre season with a 3-0 win away at Redgate Clayton and have added 6 players with higher league experience. Callum Barrett a product of Aston Villa's academy, Central midfielder Steve Hopkinson formerly of Stafford Rangers and Stafford Town, defender Matt Docherty from Stafford Town,Central defender Ed Booth from Sutton Coldfield Right Back Callum Rudd who scored Saturday from Rushall Olympic and Matt Hardiman a left back formerly from Newcastle Town and Chasetown.
Coleshill Town beat Ellistown 2-0
Continental Star went down 2-0 away at Willenhall Town and Assistant Manager Gary Smith has taken over the helm at Star.
Coventry Sphinx beat Solihull Moors 4-2 in midweek and lost 2-1 to Worcester City yesterday. They have announced they have retained a majority of last years squad icluding Carl O'Neill, Ash Wilks, Ricky Cutting, Adam Bilic, Ash Jackson last years captain and fit again Striker Luke Williams, returning to The Sphinx and Jamie Coleman has signed from Southam.
Dunkirk our FA Cup opponents lost 3-1 to Bulwell yesterday.
Heat Hayes were Hednesford's latest victims once agin suffering a 4-0 defeat.
Long Eaton United beat Shardlow 6-1 a number of triallists getting their names on the score sheet.
Our friends from Sutton Park opened in midweek with a 4-1 win over Mickleover Sports and a 1-1 draw with Swafham yesterday both games at Sutton Park.
Rocester beat Cheadle 5-0 in midweek and after being 2-0 up lost 3-2 at Atherstone Town yesterday.
Tipton travelled to Thurnby Nirvamna and were beaten 6-0.
One other result FA Vase opponents Barrow Town beat former reserve team Manager Shane Jarram's Rothley Imperials 5-0.
As the season draws closer we'll review pre season again next weekend.
