Ilkeston 5 Shepshed Dynamo 0

Shepshed went to Ilkeston knowing any type of point was a big ask and the game certainly proved with what I can remember Dynamo were limited to 2 or 3 chances all game with Simmons going close just before half time and scrabble having a couple of chances in the 2nd half.

Ilkeston were 3 up at the break and added 2 more in the 2nd half.

Apologies for the usual match report but as we stare the Midland Alliance in the face today was not just about the game on the field. Ilkeston was by far the best day I have had out following Shepshed for a long while in the 2nd half especially when both sets of supporters were sharing good humored banter in the same end was something special.

I thought we'd eclipsed ourselves at Sheffield but at the NMG we reached a new level if and when we go down days like today may be few and far between but good luck to Ilkeston and thanks for making us welcome we'll certainly have an eye on your progress towards the play offs and hope they go up.

I have notes on the game so when I get the NLP I'll add the goalscorers attendance was 543.

What a day it was, singing in there end, we were singing songs for them and they were singing our songs. I think we all left the ground afterwards on a high.
The result was never in question and I cannot ever remember going to a game where I only saw the ball hit the net on one occasion out of a 5 0 scoreline.

What a great set of fans SDFC have.
They are not only a credit to the team, but to themselves as well.
Even when you where 5 - 0 down.

Well done to all the Lads & Lasses who where at the NMG on Saturday.
I applaud you all not only for your vocal support but for your commitment to your team.
The atmosphere you all created at the NMG was second to none.
There as been no other fans who have been so friendly than yourselves.

You certainly won most IFC supporters over.

I have never seen such a sight at a non league ground before.
OK there was not a lot of you, however you made me laugh.
What a fantastic day.
Great football & result for IFC.
Unbelievable atmosphere from when you arrived until when you left.
My highlight of the day was at the end of the game.
When the Ilson fans where leaving & you where all singing.
WE CAN SEE YOU SNEAKING OUT.

A lot of respect for the Shepshed fans. For a side relegated they had superb support. Imagine what they'd be like if they were in Granthams position! Hope they stay up by some kind of reprieve as the league would be a poorer place without them. Lol would love that!

Your songs are better than ours so we would have to steal some and put an ilson twist on them!

Shepshed supporters even waited at the exit gate, shook our hand and wished us luck in the play-offs. What an outstanding bunch.

OK I now have the goalscorers from yesterday aprt from the first goal I'll run you through the goals which a majority of us missed :lol: :drunken:

Honestly the first one I also missed was scored after 13 minutes by Watts followed by a good strike from ex Shepshed Striker Darryl Thomas on 22, Richards walked through the middle of the heart of Shepshed for the third on 36 minutes and two good strikes from Ricketts on 70 and new signing from Eastwood Green on 84 concluded the scoring.

So we all know the situation at the Butthole end of the table with 4 games left we have win all 4 and hope Romulus lose all 4 so it could all be over at Easter

At the top end Grantham are 8 points clear of the chasing pack and the 4 play off places are share by Ilson, Charlton, Sheffield and Leek. Belper arethe closest to them but 5 points behind.
