Romulus v Shepshed Dynamo MOM
Romulus 2 Shepshed Dynamo 2
With Friday nights defeat condemning us to the bottom 2 we knew the most likelihood of us moving above local rivals Quorn was going to be at Coles Lane and fair does to Shepshed we ground out a point and with LDFC beating Quorn it takes us off the bottom with 2 games remaining.
To be fair we rode our luck for a majority of the game and came away with a draw when we could have been beaten out of sight but on the other hand after equalising could have taken all 3 points at the end.
2mins - Maddison shot over the top
4mins - O'Connor horrendously brought down  penalty to Shepshed Maddison converts.
8mins - Romulus fire over the top
11mins - Shaun Martin shot tipped over
14mins - Romulus attack deflected for corner and Martin saves
17mins - Romulus fire wide again
21mins - O'Connor hits the bar
22mins - Maddison wide
23mins - Romulus effort intercepted by Hore
24mins - Romulus offside
26mins - Romulus through ball to pass the advancing Martin 1-1
28mins - Romulus over the top
32mins - O'Connor crossfield ball
41mins - Chaplin goes close with one on one with keeper
44mins - Hore interception
H-T Romulus 1 Shepshed Dynamo 1
53mins - Martin save Romulus shot disallowed for offside
56mins - Romulus Over the top
58mins - Romulus over the top again
62mins - Romulus No 6 miss kick
65mins - Poor defending from Shepshed allows Reid to double his tally
Romulus 2 Shepshed Dynamo 1
73mins - Romulus over the top
75mins - Romulus wide
83mins - Romulus No 8 sent off for 2nd bookable offence but in truth should have walked for the 1st offence on Baofo
85mins - Good move from O'Connor and Simmonds fires home
Romulus 2 Shepshed Dynamo 2
90mins - Shaun Martin looked like he had gained SDFC all 3 points only for his header to go agonisingly wide.
F-T Romulus 2 Shepshed Dynamo 2 att 101
So with the score finishing level the latest we had heard from Sutton Park was Quorn 1 LDFC 1 which meant parity but the travelling BWA left Coles Lane on a high when we heard the final score from Sutton Park for those who don't want the result don't look now but later in the column QUORN 1 LDFC 3.
Rest of the Results from Today
Brigg 1 Goole 2 att 122
Coalville 2 Sutton Coldfield 0 att 86
Ilkeston 3 Hucknall 1 att 527
Leek 4 New Mills 0 att 345
Lincoln Utd 1 Market Drayton 4 att 90
Newcastle Town 2 Kidsgrove 2 att 135
Quorn 1 Loughborough Dynamo 3 att 151
Stamford 1 Grantham 3 att 374
So with the title sewn up on Saturday by Grantham. Ilkeston have now guaranteed their play off place, Charlton, Leek, Sheffield and Belper battle out for the remaining places.
So with ourselves moving off the bottom today we host one of the play offs candidates Belper next Saturday and Sheffield could return the favour of the great atmosphere we provided at The BT Arena by beating Quorn next weekend all to play for but the BWA end the Easter period with a smile on their face as they rise off the bottom of the table.

You put in a good shift Chalky but as a friend and being honest you should have replaced yourself and used your experience along side Jim on the bench to both you and Jim let's finish on a high at home with getting something against a tough game against the Nailers we'll not only raise the the roof on Saturday but take it off the structures one final win at home.

It was the number 3 who was sent off, not number 8.

Chalky I didn't think Jim took any of your hints when you kept going down. You put in a good shift to be fair alongside maddy.
I thought tin man edged the mom especially the penalty dive :face:
We promise to only play at 80% to give you lot a chance in the supporters game however :D :!: :joker:

Difficult to pick a Man of the Match.
I thought they all gave 100 percent.
For me maybe Maddo just shaded it but could have been anyone .
Tinmans effort that hit the bar would have been goal of the season if two inches lower.
Chalky kept pushing himself to the end and James made a few vital saves.
I could keep going on here but would get boring.
Hope 2Tone is OK,heard it was a broken metatarsal(not sure of spelling) but hopefully not.

More praise for the B.W.A. yesterday the Romulus officials thought the support was brilliant and said we will be sadly missed in the Evo Stick next year. The guy who was selling the raffle tickets said he was a bit worried about asking us to buy a ticket but was amazed how everyone bought a ticket with no bother at all i was told he said it was absolutly "BRILLIANT".
Well done to everyone.
